About Dreamwork: Sigmund Freud described dreams as the “royal road to the unconscious.” In this workshop individuals will explore dream content in a group setting, seeking to re-enter the dream and further explore underlying themes. A core concept of this workshop is active imagination, in which the conscious mind dialogues with dream content through art making, writing, role play and other expressive modalities. Though the hidden meanings of the dreams may become clearer to the individual, this workshop does not aim to analyze or interpret dreams. Though it is encouraged, it is not necessary for an individual to bring their own dream to work with.

About the Facilitator: Tyler Derouin is a holistic psychology and expressive therapy student at Lesley University, whose studies focus on the body-mind connection and movement oriented therapies. As a process focused musician and artist, Tyler creates jewelry, sculptures and paintings. They are interested in collaborative arts events, in which the group interpretation includes and transcends the individual experience. Having facilitated arts groups in kindergarten to adult programs, Tyler feels the creative process may bring unconscious thoughts and feelings to light.
