Dorchester Babywearing Meeting

Join us for a babywearing meeting at the Great Hall at Codman Square Health Center in Dorchester! Meet BWI Boston volunteers, get answers to your Babywearing questions, learn about and try on carriers, and make new friends!

We are a chapter of Babywearing International and offer a yearly membership option. While our meetings are 100% free and open to the public if you are interested in borrowing from our lending library there is a $5 donation required per carrier. This donation is waived for members.

Babywearing International of Greater Boston is a non-profit group that survives solely upon donations and volunteer efforts by its members and the public. Please consider giving a donation to our cause. We are not always able to request donations (i.e. at locations such as libraries, which have strict rules), but we can always accept offered donations regardless of where we are meeting.

Sick Policy:

At every meeting we have pregnant mamas, newborns, and others who are at heightened risk if exposed to colds or viruses, and we want everyone to stay healthy -- including our leaders, many of whom attend multiple meetings every month, and whose absence, when they or their kids are sick, makes it difficult for us to effectively support everyone who comes to the meeting!

So, please STAY HOME and rest if you or a member of your family is actively sick (persistent sneezing, coughing, or colorful runny nose not due simply to dry, cold weather or allergies), has the flu or any virus, has been running a fever or vomiting within the last 24 hours, or you have any other symptoms that you would not want your newborn exposed to from anyone else. Wait to visit us until the next meeting -- we have at least 3 every month, and sometimes more!

If you can't make it to a meeting because of sickness, but you really need babywearing help ASAP, contact one of our leaders or simply email us at [email protected]. You can also post on the event page or send a PM directly to us on Facebook. We may be able to arrange to meet up with you between meetings, after you or your children are feeling better.

If you have a borrowed library carrier and you are staying home from the meeting when the carrier is due to be returned, please email [email protected] with as much advance notice as possible. If you won't be at the meeting, we will do our best to arrange a convenient carrier drop-off or pick-up.
