One scoop or two? Make a seashell ice cream bowl using Revolutionary techniques, in partnership with The Clay Studio!

In this 90-minute workshop, you’ll use a shell form to create an ice cream bowl from start to finish, with blue and white porcelain glaze. Shells have historically been used in a variety of ways – as utensils, tools and ornamentation. During the 1770s, shell motifs were a popular design in America and Bonnin and Morris cast real shells to include on their works.

Please note: Bowls will be fired off-site at the Clay Studio and participants will be contacted within 2-4 weeks when their works are ready for pick-up. The Clay Studio is located at 139 N. 2nd Street in Philadelphia.
Be sure to wear clothes you're not afraid to get dirty!

This workshop is appropriate for adults and children ages 6 and older. Pre-registration is required as space is limited.
