Disability Pride Philadelphia will take place in the heart of Philadelphia; opening ceremonies at the National Constitution Center (NCC), marching down Market Street, and continuing onto City Hall and Dilworth Park. We will be celebrating the contributions of disabled people and carrying forward the message of equality for everyone.
We will joined by a number of dignitaries including Justin Dart’s widow, Yoshiko Dart (Justin signed the American’s with Disabilities Act on the White House lawn with President George H. Bush), and there will be a display of Justin Darts wheelchair at the National Constitution Center (NCC), in which he sat in while signing the ADA Act.
Disability Pride Philadelphia will begin at 10am at the National Constitutional Center. Opening ceremonies will include the singing of the National Anthem, speeches, and performance by local artists. Our 6th annual Disability Pride Parade will head out from the NCC down Market Street converging onto City Hall and Dilworth Park for rest of the day’s activities. We will have sponsor informational tables, live performances and speeches on the Main Stage along with raffles and activities for the children.
