2017-2018 CYDP Dance Company Placement Auditions for ages 12-18

New students interested in auditioning for our nonprofit pre-professional youth dance company, as well as returning students who did not receive their placements during the Master Series or Youth Intensive dance camp should plan to attend the following:


Ballet at 10am-11:30am - August 26, 2017
Ballet, jazz/contemporary, and modern placement are all determined at our ballet audition. Dancers should arrive 15-30 minutes early to fill out required paperwork and prepare. Dancers will do a full barre and center work. Placement in any CYDP Dance Company jazz/contemporary and/or modern class requires at least 2 ballet classes per week as part of the curriculum.


Tap at 12pm-12:45pm - August 26, 2017
Dancers will be given drills across the floor to assess skill level, accuracy, speed, and musicality. Tap dancers are not required to attend the ballet audition, as tap can be taken as a single subject.
