Curtain Call Theatre Presents The Odd Couple

This fall, Curtain Call Theatre in Braintree will present THE ODD COUPLE, directed by Michael Pevzner. Neil Simon's classic comedy opens as a group of guys gather to play cards in the messy apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. Late to arrive is Felix Unger, who has just separated from his wife. Meticulous, depressed, and extremely tense, Felix appears suicidal, but as the action unfolds, Oscar is the one with murder on his mind after the clean freak and the slob decide to room together and this odd couple is formed.

Performances will take place October 25 and 26 and November 1 and 2 at 8 p.m., and October 27 and November 3 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased at www.curtaincallbraintree.org or by calling 1-866-811-4111.

Says THE ODD COUPLE Director, Michael Pevzner, "Every time I direct a Neil Simon comedy, I feel a direct kinship with his joyful comic warmth. Simon died in August, 2018, but his spirit will always live on in his naturally eloquent, almost musically rhythmic dialogue. THE ODD COUPLE encompasses it all: sparkling characters, constantly humorous interactions and the compassion to lovingly portray the foibles of everyday people in everyday life. It is a joy to watch this cast of unique regional actors bring it all to life. To paraphrase Simon’s character, Oscar, when he smells the aroma of Felix’s cooking and says '...something wonderful is going on in that kitchen': something wonderful will be happening on that Curtain Call Theatre stage."
