Join us on our opening night, Tuesday, April 8, at Trident Booksellers for an all-star reading and discussion of FIRST PAGES. Henriette Lazaridis Power, Lisa Borders, and Stephanie Gayle share their novel openings, both their first drafts and the final results. They’ll tell us how they started, where they ended up and why, and all the editing decisions in between. If you want to get in on the action, bring your own first page of a short story or novel (maximum 250 words). One lucky audience member will have their entry read aloud and discussed by our authors. The winner receives a free GrubStreet pint glass and a drink, purchased by our own Michelle Hoover—as well as possible love, wealth, and fame.
Doors open at 6:30 pm. Readings begin at 7pm sharp!
Craft on Draft is a reading series devoted to great fiction and the mechanics behind it. Grab a drink—and a page of your writing—and imbibe the wisdom of 3 authors.
Join us at Trident Booksellers, where each reading focuses on a different aspect of the craft of fiction writing. Three authors read and discuss their work, then select a page of writing from the audience to discuss. If you want in, BYO page of writing (maximum 250 words) exemplifying the topic at hand. The lucky winner receives a free pint glass and a drink to go in it, as well as possible love, wealth, and fame.
