Visit Shimmer, a temporary public art installation by Claudia Ravaschiere and Mike Moss that will be on view at the intersection of Congress and Dorchester Streets in Fort Point. This piece uses the refractive qualities of translucent plexi glass and wind driven kinetics to activate the Harbor Walk and engage to public’s viewing of the area adjacent to the Summer Street Bridge. A combination of fluorescent and jewel toned small panels are installed vertically between the railings along Fort Point Channel constructed to move to catch the wind and light of the channel. This installation becomes luminous and shimmering, altering the natural and ambient light from the preexisting illumination along the Harbor Walk to create a kinetic field of altering hues. The piece will change as daylight shifts and as the wind interacts with the piece.

Especially for ArtWeek, enjoy two artist conversations with Mike Moss and Claudia Ravaschiere, free and open to the public:

· October 1 at 5:30pm

· October 4 at 2:00pm

Meet on the corner of Dorchester and Summer Streets, Boston, MA 02210 (For weather related changes, please check the ArtWeek website).
