The Armenian Museum will kick-off its Spring Concert series with "April in Paris: Music for Cello and Piano by French and Armenian Composers" on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
The program will feature works by composers ranging from Debussy and Chausson, to Petrossian and Hovounts, played by cellist Kate Kayaian and accompanied by Stephen Porter on piano.
Kayaian is known for her stunning artistry and for her passion for collaboration. Based in Boston, she maintains a rigorous schedule balancing her own performances with teaching and conducting positions, as well as musical exchange projects around the world.
Originally from Chicago, IL, Kayaian came to Boston to pursue her degree at the New England Conservatory of Music where she studied cello with Colin Carr, and chamber music with Eugene Lehner, Irma Vallecillo, Scott Nickrenz and the Borromeo String Quartet.
Kayaian is now the Director of Chamber Music for the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras and maintains an active studio of private students while simultaneously traveling around the world facilitating cultural exchanges between music students.
