6:00-7:00pm: ALL LEVELS YOGA
This gentle session is for all ages and body types, offering a unique inroad to the integration of body, mind, and spirit. A loving approach to nurturing the body is combined with jargon-free spiritual insight, seen through the angle of Quakerism.
Yogis and Quakers share the certainty that internal seeking and centering inevitably stretch out to transform the external world. Come experience a practice that explores that movement of inner peace out into the world. *limited mats and props available*
- Facilitated by Katy Hawkins, Ph.D, Shiné Yoga
7:00-8:00pm: MEDITATION AND DISCUSSION
In Buddhist philosophy, it’s said that to realize the state of enlightenment (none other than our own innate nature) – one needs to cultivate the two qualities of *compassion* and *wisdom*. And yet every day we struggle with our own thoughts and emotions! So how can we be true agents of peace when we ourselves are so beset with turbulence? We will explore on a deep level ways to cultivate a peaceful and compassionate heart and mind no matter the situation, and to expand the conditions for peacefulness not only in ourselves, but also throughout the world in which we live.
- Facilitated by Tony Boris, Shantideva Space
