NON-MEMBER RENTALS
In addition to our membership programs, Community Boating offers a variety of our watercraft for rental along with our facilities for business and corporate events. You can rent out a section of our facility for your event, schedule a corporate sailing adventure, rent kayaks or stand-up-paddleboards, or rent a sailboat if you have sailing experience.
Rentals are conducted on a first-come basis during Adult Program operating hours. All watercraft rentals must return to the dock 30 minutes before sunset. Facility rentals and corporate events may extend beyond sunset.
2023 Season
April 1 – June 11
Weekdays: 1:00 pm to 30 minutes before sunset
Weekends: 9:00 am to 30 minutes before sunset
June 12 – August 18*
Weekdays: 3:00 pm to 30 minutes before sunset
Weekends: 9:00 am to 30 minutes before sunset
August 19 – October 31
Weekdays: 1:00 pm to 30 minutes before sunset
Weekends: 9:00 am to 30 minutes before sunset
All rentals must be off the water 30 minutes before sunset.
*Rentals will be closed on Monday July 3rd and on Tuesday July 4th
Community Boating offers an opportunity to view the great city of Boston from an angle rarely seen. Rent a kayak and explore the Charles River Basin and Frederick Law Olmstead esplanade lagoon system while enjoying breathtaking views of historic Back Bay, Beacon Hill, MIT, and the Zakim and Longfellow bridges. This is a can’t miss experience for both out of town visitors and longtime residents alike.
Two-hour kayak (single or tandem) and stand-up-paddle-boards rentals are available for $34 per person.
Note that membership includes Kayaks and SUPs at no cost (not including Wicked Basic Sailing Pass). Please review our members’ guest policy if you are planning to take non-member guests paddling with you.
Paddling rentals are limited to the Storrow Lagoon on red flag (high wind) days.
For experienced sailors, Community Boating offers two-hour keelboat rentals to non-members. We offer two types of sailboats for rent:
Boat type: Rhodes 19
Capacity: 5 person
Price: $119
Damage Waiver: $15
Boat type: Cape Cod Keel Mercury
Capacity: 4 person
Price: $85
Damage Waiver: $10
Our sailing area covers the Charles River Basin, stretching between the Mass Ave bridge and the Longfellow bridge. Rentals are conducted on a first-come basis during rental hours. All rentals must return to the dock 30 minutes before sunset. Non-member sailboat rentals are suspended on red flag (high wind) days.
