Gongshi, known as Scholar's rocks in English, are naturally occurring or shaped rocks that are historically favored by Chinese Literati. These fantastically-shaped stones, often placed in traditional Chinese gardens, can be any color, shape and size, and have inspired poets, painters and writers.
Come and try your hand at painting these erratics in Chinese watercolor as they are accompanied by the Four Gentleman flowers: the plum blossom, the orchid, the bamboo and the chrysanthemum.
Materials will be provided. The fee is non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by BCNC.
Class will be held on Saturdays, October 5, 12, 19, and 26.
