Chameleon Art Ensemble’s 2016-2017 season finale explores shifting perspectives and the intersections of art and music. Robert Schumann’s sublime Piano Quintet in E-flat Major, Op. 44 is a heartfelt portrait of his wife Clara and one of the most beloved works in the chamber music repertoire. Francis Poulenc creates musical canvases on the work of the painter with his song cycle Le travail du peintre for soprano and piano and Morton Feldman’s sonic experiment For Franz Kline evokes the artist’s magnificent black and white abstracts. Finally American composer Laura Schwendinger and Maurice Ravel, with his Duo for violin and cello, craft rich and colorful vignettes that transform how we see the world around us. Tickets are $47, $36 or $25 with $5 off for students and seniors. Saturday, May 20 at 8 PM, Sunday, May 21 at 4 PM at First Church in Boston.
