Join Boston Collaborative for Food and Fitness, Councilor Tito Jackson, and our partners as we Celebrate the Fruits of Our Ocean TM at the Roxbury YMCA for a special seafood event! At this event, you will get the chance to watch a Seafood Throwdown between chefs Mike Hanley of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Jeffrey Walker of JD’s Catering, judged by Carol Kong of Haley House, Kevin Washington of YMCA of Greater Boston and a youth program participants from La Sociedad Latina and the Whittier Street Health Center, with ingredients courtesy of Egleston Farmers Market and Red’s Best. This family-friendly event is complete with special activities just for children. Celebrate the Fruits of Our Ocean TM will be offering free tastings of the delicious seafood dish prepared for a limited number of attendees who register at the market on the day of the event. There will also be an exciting conversation led by Emcee Councilor Tito Jackson about sustainability and seasonality of local dayboat seafood, food policy, and cooking with local ingredients.
