For their first main stage show of the 2023-2024 season, Curtain Call Theatre (CCT) will present “Constellations”, by Nick Payne, on November 2, 3, 4 at 8:00 PM and November 5 at 2:00 PM.
Directed by David Edge (Scituate) and starring actors Hallie Grace Nowicki (Hingham) and Michael Mazzone (Winthrop), “Constellations” is a romantic journey that begins with a simple encounter between a man and a woman and then delves into the infinite possibilities of their relationship, raising questions about the difference between choice and destiny.
Said producer Toni Ruscio (Weymouth), “It’s so important that the two actors who take on these roles have extraordinary chemistry, and Hallie and Michael absolutely do. Their work is truly breathtaking, and even though this is a serious play they are having so much fun working on it together. It’s been wonderful to watch this beautiful show evolve and take shape over these last few weeks.”
Mazzone took a break during a recent rehearsal to reflect on working with Nowicki and the rest of the “Constellations” team saying, “I’ve loved this play for years and it has been a dream come true to work on it with such an amazing team. Each person brings such out-of-the-box creativity to this process and our ideas bounce off each other well. Not only are they such great collaborators, but they’re also funny, good people. We do spend some time goofing off, but I think our work is better because of it.” He adds, “I’m also so thankful to have such a compassionate, talented partner in Hallie.”
Nowicki feels the same saying, “Working with David and Michael and our stage manager Jim Gross [Weymouth] has been an honor. With a show like “Constellations”, it’s important to have the freedom to explore the multiple realities enacted, while also having a sense of direction and overall vision for a piece that is not necessarily linear. I believe we’ve achieved that with this theatrical multiverse.”
