Cavalleria Rusticana is set in the late 1800’s, in a small Sicilian town, Vizzini. It is Easter morning and the young Turiddu, before leaving for military service, reveals his love to a local town girl, Lola. On his return (about a year later), however, he discovers a hurtful truth that will launch him into a series of events in which the entire town becomes witness to.
Written in 1890 by Pietro Mascagni, this masterpiece, Cavalleria Rusticana, garnered an indelible mark in opera history. In celebration, his family formed a committee and set out to revive his legacy around the world to this new generation.
Join us, as we nestle into this small town within the island of Sicily, Italy. Embark on a story that is sure to bring out joy, love, sorrow and empathy within you. Topped off with your participation in an Italian sing-a-long to close, it is a night of true Sicilian-Italian indulgence.
