Join the Canasta Connection for an afternoon of Modern American Canasta and American Mah Jongg Social Play.
About the Social Play Event:
Play canasta or mahjong, have a mimosa, and get connected to other canasta and mahjong players. It is not a tournament. Let's bring together the Greater Boston Canasta and Mah Jongg Community and have fun playing! The cost of the event is $37. The event is at a beautiful private function room in Brookline. We will share location details after registration or email for questions.
We will provide beverages, snacks and prizes (raffle style). Instructors Emily and Bev of the Canasta Connection will be circulating and offering Q&A and strategy help at tables.
All cards, card trays, and mahjong sets will be provided to tables. We will have a limited number of card holders available for use, but if you have one that you like bring your own! Bring your 2024 Mahjong card. We will have a limited number of 2024 cards available to borrow or purchase.
Space is limited, first come first served. Sign up on your own, with a friend, or your whole group! We will assign tables and do our best to arrange by level.
To register: first complete the calendly form. Then, provide payment in one of two ways (required to guarantee a spot).
About You:
You must have, at a minimum, an emerging understanding of Modern American Canasta or American Mahjong (NMJL rules). If you have taken a class, regardless of level, this is intended to be a great opportunity to get your feet wet and meet new people in a fun and friendly, low-stakes environment. If you haven't played in awhile or haven't played in person we'd love to help you get back into it and have you join!

If you need to cancel, please do so via Calendly or email [email protected]. Cancellations after 72 hours will not be refunded. We hope you understand as we have costs involved with the event and limited seating.
