Brooklyn Rider
Friday, March 20, 7pm and 9:30pm
The game-changing string quartet Brooklyn Rider has been hailed as “the future of chamber music” by Strings. Brooklyn Rider presents eclectic repertoire in performances that continue to draw rave reviews from classical, world, and rock critics. The ensemble’s recordings are played across North America on stations ranging in focus from classical to world, jazz, pop, and new music. For their latest project, the Brooklyn Rider Almanac, the quartet turned to a spectrum of composers including Bill Frisell, Greg Saunier (Deerhoof), Padma Newsome (The National), Ethan Iverson, Christina Courtin and Vijay Iver, and asked them to name an inspirational artistic figure from the past fifty years and compose a new work for Brooklyn Rider.
