Bringing Birthdays to Homeless Children

Birthday Wishes, a New England and New York based non-profit organization, that brings the magic and joy of birthday parties to thousands of homeless children and their families each year, is holding its 11th annual “Walk for Birthdays” (formerly CakeWalk) Fundraiser, which is one of the organization’s signature fundraising events.

“Walk for Birthdays” is a hybrid event, where participants can walk together on Sunday, June 12 or on their own beforehand. After the walk, all registrants are invited to the Walker Appreciation Party hosted by DJ Al Martinez featuring JP Honk Band, Davey the Clown, cookie decorating with Merry Go Sweets, face painting with Wonderland Faces, snowmaking with Party with Me!, spray art with S.O.M. Vibes Studio, crafts with the Metrowest Mamas, bounce house, food, raffle and so much more!

At the in-person event, participants will also have the opportunity to build a Birthday-in-a-Box at our first community Birthday-in-a-Box build. Our goal is to build 200 boxes to distribute to our August birthday kids!

This event is to raise much-needed funds and awareness of the Birthday Wishes mission and is a great way to bring joy to a homeless child. Every mile walked (or jogged, biked, etc.) and every dollar raised by participants will be used to deliver birthday celebrations – and the gift of hope – to children who would otherwise miss out on this experience. There are two ways you can participate.

 Participate in person on Sunday, June 12th!

We will have a course for individual or team walking and jogging. The course will start at Cochituate Place, located at 24 Superior Drive. You can start anytime between 10:00am and 1:00pm on June 12th!

There will be plenty of family fun including games, music, kids activities, and amazing raffle,

Participate virtually between June 1st and June 12th!

Walk, hike, run or bike on a route of your choosing or even on a treadmill or exercise bike. Just set a fundraising goal and a mileage goal, and recruit friends, family and colleagues to support your effort!
