Philadelphia, PA – JUNK presents the third in its URBAN SCUBA series, ADULT SWIM 2017, December 13-23 at JUNK, 2040 Christian Street, Philadelphia. The wild and sexy imagination of Artistic Director Brian Sanders brings you an unforgettable evening. URBAN SCUBA: ADULT SWIM features new and updated erotic, edgy, and evocative work from more than twenty years of unique dance theater. ADULT SWIM includes the best of JUNK’s sensual aerial dance performances, and the premiere of “Crushed Nuts,” Sanders’ titillating tribute to everyone’s favorite holiday score, Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker. There are also hits from our Snowball events of the past, and much more. This pleasure/treasure dive is not to be missed!

THE URBAN SCUBA SERIES: URBAN SCUBA, aka dumpster-diving, is off-the-wall choreography, different, daring and dangerous. Bringing new life to our city’s best debris, URBAN SCUBA marries traditional dance with dare-devil physical theater: high art for the lowbrow and vice versa - performances that are unique, engaging and wonderfully surprising, full of vitality and hip, cutting-edge fun.

URBAN SCUBA: ADULT SWIM will be performed at JUNK, 2040 Christian Street. Regular performances are $35; late shows (9:30 pm) are $25. The December 16th performance includes AfterGlow, where patrons can mix and mingle with the cast with a bit of food and drink, for a ticket price of $50. Since 1992, Brian Sanders and his troupe, JUNK has, as one critic put it “left audiences spellbound by the intricacies and daredevil risks of Sanders’ ingenious choreography”. Media hales JUNK as “accessible, technically flawless and thrilling” and declares Sanders “the city’s most exciting choreographer” and “one of Philadelphia’s greatest cultural treasures.” JUNK is based in Philadelphia, PA offering a regular season that includes a main run during the Fringe Festival in Philadelphia, the URBAN SCUBA series, the winter fantasy-themed fundraising event Snowball, and a spring program.
