Boston Rocket League Rallies Against Cancer for The Jimmy Fund


Boston Rocket League is teaming up with the Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Institute to conquer Cancer!


Join us at a special charity event hosted by Boston Rocket League to help raise money for critical cancer research and patient care. Though most Boston Rocket League events are free, there will be a $10 entry fee at this event and 100% of the entry fees will go to the Jimmy Fund to directly support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.


Everyone is welcome – players of ALL levels, friends, family, and those who just want to have fun and support a great cause.  This is a great opportunity to meet other Boston Rocket League players, show off your skills, network, and enjoy delicious food and drinks!


Time and General Information:
The event will take place from 6pm-10pm on Wednesday, March 20th.


We will be playing 2v2 games on gaming laptops/consoles that will be projected on 4 large TVs so the audience can join in on the fun!


This single elimination tournament will be streamed on the Boston Rocket League Twitch Channel (link on meetup description) https://www.twitch.tv/bostonrocketleague


Winning team will win limited edition Red Sox hats!


Space is limited and expected to fill up fast. The lineup will be created on a first come, first served basis. Though it is not required, teams who RSVP in advance will be given priority and placed first in the lineup. However, if you do not arrive by 7pm your spot will be forfeited to the next team on the waitlist.


You can reserve your spot as a competitive player in the tournament by:
1. Donating $10 per person on our Jimmy Fund Page via the link on the discussion board (this covers the entry fee) http://danafarber.jimmyfund.org/goto/UpperEdge
AND
2. Sending a direct message to the organizer with your name and team name.


If you do not donate in advance to reserve your spot, you still have a chance to play in the tournament in the event spaces become available. There is a $10 entry fee for all attendees.

Those under the age of 21 are welcome but will not be able to participate to the actual tournament since they will be asked to leave by 8:30pm when Finn McCool’s bar hours begin.


Dana-Farber Cancer Institute: Need Boost!
Rally Against Cancer is one of the many signature events the Jimmy Fund benefits from and since 2006, Rally Against Cancer has raised more than $5.2 million for cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Boston Red Sox partners with the Jimmy Fund for this particular event to celebrate the start of baseball season while supporting the fight against cancer.
