WHAT: The 27th annual Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai is a one-day fundraising event with the goal of raising more than $8.2 million for the Jimmy Fund for adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Since its 1989 inception, the event has raised more than $100 million. The Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk raises the most money of any single-day walk in the nation.
WHO: An expected 8,500 people, including cancer patients, survivors, and family members, will walk up to 26.2 miles along the historic Boston Marathon® route.
WHEN & WHERE: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Walk follows the Boston Marathon route from Hopkinton to Boston, through Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, and Brookline. It has four starting locations: Center School in Hopkinton; Babson College in Wellesley; Boston College in Brighton; and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s campus in the Longwood Medical Area. Finish line is Copley Square, Boston.
