Boston Landmarks Orchestra Concerts is returning to the DCR Hatch Shell for the summer season starting in July!
2023 season schedule:
Wednesday, July 19 at 7:00pm: Appalachian Spring & Les Préludes
July 19th at the Hatch Shell is the annual "Green Concert™ with works celebrating nature, including "Appalachian Spring" and a new piece from Brian Nabors, "Upon Daybreak" co-commissioned by Landmarks Orchestra, alongside Seattle Symphony and Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Wednesday, July 26 at 7:00pm: Seen-Unseen: The Symphonic Legacy of Black American Women
Coinciding with the NAACP's conference in Boston, the July 26th concert at the Hatch Shell brings a special focus to celebrating the symphonic legacy of Black American women and their compositions. GRAMMY® award-winning drummer, producer and educator, Terri Lyne Carrington joins Landmarks as a guest curator and performer.
Wednesday, August 2 at 7:00pm: American Virtuosos: An American in Paris
This concert features American gems such as George Gershwin's An American in Paris and three dance episodes from Leonard Bernstein's On the Town, along with a special prelude concert with Four Strings Academy.
Saturday, August 12 at 7:00pm: Mozart & More at the Hatch
This concert pairs Mozart and Joseph Bologne, subject of the new film, Chevalier, and features composers who have overcome challenges in their lives. Featuring a special piece from Artist-in-Residence, Fabiola Méndez and her collaboration with students from Hyde Square Task Force, alongside violinist Mariana Green-Hill, and guitarist Zaira Menses. Hosted by José Massó.
Wednesday, August 23 at 7:00pm: Beethoven to Gottschalk
The final performance on August 23 is Landmarks Annual "Dance Night" featuring Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 and Tchaikovsky's The Sleeping Beauty, along with performances from Jean Appolon Expressions, Sayat Nova Dance Company, and Principal Dancer of Boston Ballet, Chyrstyn Mariah Fentroy.

The opening concert on June 17th celebrates Juneteenth and marks Landmarks' debut performance at the Kroc Center in the Roxbury-Dorchester neighborhood!
Saturday, July 8 at 1:00: Community Day
Join Landmarks Orchestra for a day of family fun! We're hosting a Community Day in Chelsea at PORT Park on July 29th. Hosted by José Massó, this will be a family-friendly event featuring music, entertainment, family-friendly activities and more.
Thursday, August 10 to Friday, August 11:
Two neighborhood concerts will take place on August 10th at the Peoples Baptist Church in Roxbury and August 11th at the Kroc Center. Both concerts will feature the same program of the August 12th Hatch Shell concert.

What can I bring to the Hatch Shell?
You can bring chairs, towels or blankets, food, drink (no alcohol), even your dogs!
We rent chairs for $15, with $5 returned to you when you return it at the end of the concert. Chairs are rented from the Landmarks info tent.
How do I get to the Hatch Shell?
The Hatch Shell is most accessible by the T.
- Charles/MGH (Red Line): 0.4 miles from Hatch Shell
- Arlington Street (Green Line): 0.5 miles from Hatch Shell
- There are limited parking garage options.
- Boston Common Garage: 0.6 miles from Hatch Shell
- Mass Eye and Ear Garage: 0.5 miles from Hatch Shell
A drop-off point is available for those with disabilities behind the Hatch Shell. Ambassadors are available to help anyone with disabilities to and from the drop-off point. Use this link for more information on accessibility measures at our concerts.
What if it might rain?
If inclement weather is forecasted on concert day, please check www.landmarksorchestra.org, any of our social media pages, or call 617-987-2000 after 4:00 PM for any changes to the date or venue.
If a concert is rained out, it will be moved to the following day. If it rains the following day, check the platforms listed above.
