The Boston Comics in Color festival is a FREE family-friendly event for all ages focusing on creators of color and stories by and about people of color. This event will be the first of its kind in the city of Boston. It will include public conversations with event headliner(s) Joel Christian Gill (Fights: One Boys Triumph Over Violence) and Ben Passmore (BTTM FDRS); panel discussions with working artists, and scholars on subjects such as Afrofuturism and Magic and Fantasy in Comics. Workshops on comic art techniques, writing, character design and a kids track which will include activities by SPARC! the Art Mobile (MassArt), and workshops with local artists Rixy FZ and Basil El Halagway. There will also be an artist alley where comic creators can share and sell their books, materials, artwork, etc.; a cosplay showcase, live art and more. For more information go to comicsincolor.org
