The French Cultural Center is proud to participate in the 6th edition of the Boston Book Festival, in partnership with the cultural services of the French Embassy in the US. Throughout the day we will have book talks by three French authors.
We will begin this special day with Mr. Jean Claude Redonnet who will present his recent books Héritages Francophones and Les Monologues de Jeanne Amiel.
The following presentation will feature the author and physical chemist Hervé This who will introduce the audience to molecular cuisine through his book Note-by-Note Cooking. This talk, illustrated with a demonstration, will explain how a meal can be created by a modern chef using pure molecular compounds to introduce novel consistencies, colors, flavors and tastes.
The day will end with a discussion between French philosopher and author Marc Crépon from the ENS, and professor Jay Winter from Yale. Mr. Crépon will be discussing his book The Thought of Death and the Memory of War, published by the University of Minnesota Press in 2013, which reconsiders the place occupied by the memory of wars within our societies.
Please note: Books in French and English will be available for sale at the Albertine Book Store booth throughout the event, and authors will be available for a book signing following their respective talks.
