Putting two creative artists together has been the modus operandi behind the Boiler House Jazz series. Both Forbes Graham and Noell Dorsey have been fiercely individual artists and sound explorers fearlessly pushing boundaries and restrictive classifications. In this duo performance they will continue their adventurous paths.

Forbes Graham is a trumpet player, electronic musician, and composer living and working in the Boston area. He is part of a dynamic new generation of improvisors in traversing a wide range spectrum of genres and styles including experimental, jazz, noise, and more. Forbes is the founder of Rock Art Artists Retreat, and has appeared at numerous festivals including High Zero, Full Force (curated by John Zorn), Vision, as well as The Wire's Adventures in Modern Music Festival. He has been featured on over 30 recordings including those under his own name as well as releases by the Jazz Composers Alliance, Bathysphere, and Construction Party.. Some influences he has cited are Wadada Leo Smith, Anthony Braxton, and George Lewis. http://www.forbesgrahammusic.com/

Noell Dorsey is a singer, improvisor, and experimental vocalist based in Somerville, MA. She is a member of the venerable psych-rock outfit Major Stars. She also performs with the improv duos Avoidance, Ricochet, and Beautiful Weekend. Coming from a classical singing background, she incorporates various vocal techniques and extensions to create a textural and uninhibited terrain.
