You like escape rooms? Well what if you could add food, beer, and prizes, then lower the price? Introducing... board game escape room night!


It seems escape rooms are so popular, they've started building board games around them. Essentially escape rooms in a box. We were a bit skeptical that a board game could really capture that escape room feel, but we played a few and found several we loved. Inside each box, you'll find the map of the room you're in, puzzles and conundrums galore, hints if you need them, and a decoder wheel where you enter your solutions and unlock the next challenge. The games run 90 minutes to an hour, and they were so much fun that we decided to build an entire event around them.


Here's the way it works: Get together a team of 2-5 people, book a spot for your group, and show up at Cheeky Monkey at 7:00. Check in, and get your own copy of an escape room game. (The theme for this one is that you're trapped in an abandoned cabin... Oooooo....). At 7:10, we'll teach everyone how to play and then everyone will open their game.


You'll have as much time to finish as you need, with the option for hints at any point. But should you be the first team to finish (without needing hints), you'll get a $50 gift card to the brewery. We'll also have prizes for 2nd and 3rd. But don't worry, if you're not in the top 3, we'll still give you all the time you need to beat the game on your own.


Done early and still in the gaming mood? We'll have a collection of a dozen or so awesome board games onhand. For those still in the mystery-solving mood, we'll have several mystery/puzzle-themed games. And for those of you done with thinking who want some turn-off-the-brain party games, we'll have some of those as well. Either way, our resident game expert will be onhand to teach you the rules to anything there.


The whole time, you are welcome to drink some Cheeky Monkey beer, brewed right onsite. And you can eat some great food. Teams of 2-5 cost $30 for the whole team regardless of size. You can have 6 players if you want, but we find that tends to create the too-many-chefs-in-the-kitchen problem, and you'd be better off doing 2 teams of 3. If you are an individual or a pair of people who want to be part of a larger group, buy individual tickets for $10 each and we'll match you with others who sign up for the same option.
