Angela Voras-Hills, author of Louder Birds, reads with J.D. Debris, whose collection The Scorpion's Question Mark is forthcoming from Autumn House Press, and Hannah Aizenman, whose poems can be found in The Yale Review, The Iowa Review, Birmingham Poetry Review, and elsewhere.

Founded in 1973, the award-winning Blacksmith House Poetry Series brings established and emerging writers of poetry and fiction to Harvard Square. In person readings will take place at 56 Brattle on Mondays at 8pm. Admission is $3. Please register in advance.


Angela Voras-Hills

Angela Voras-Hills's first book, Louder Birds (Pleiades 2020), won the Lena-Miles Wever Todd Poetry Prize. Her work has appeared in Kenyon Review OnlineBest New PoetsMemoriousNew Ohio Review, and Prairie Schooner among other journals and anthologies. She has received grants from The Sustainable Arts Foundation and Key West Literary Seminar, as well as a fellowship at Writers’ Room of Boston. She lives with her family in Milwaukee, WI, and is a PhD student in English at UW-Milwaukee.


Hannah Aizenman

Hannah Aizenman holds an MFA in poetry from New York University and works in the poetry department at The New Yorker. Her poems have been published by the Academy of American Poets, Electric Literature, The Yale ReviewThe Iowa ReviewBirmingham Poetry Review, and elsewhere. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, she lives and writes in Brooklyn.


J.D. Debris

J.D. Debris is the author of The Scorpion's Question Mark, forthcoming from Autumn House Press, winner of the 2022 Donald Justice Prize. He was a Goldwater Fellow at New York University, where he completed his MFA. His work has won awards from Ploughshares and Narrative. He is also a songwriter and recording artist, whose releases include the albums J.D. Debris Murder Club and Black Market Organs.
