Let’s explore Plum Island by bike with six miles in length and relatively flat terrain (great for beginners). Please note, however, that we'll be biking to Plum Island from the bike rental shop, so the total mileage will be 10.2 miles one way. We’ll climb an observation tower which will provide us with views of the entire island, and afterwards we can explore the Hellcat Wildlife Observation Area if there’s interest. We can also decide to go to the beach along the way, and later we can grab a bite to eat at downtown Newburyport. Bring closed-toe shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, water, snacks, and bug spray.


Pricing:
Bike rentals: $26.25 (includes lock and helmet)(to be selected separately when booking).
Driver price*: $0 (before $20 returnable deposit)
Rider price: $20.00 (includes round trip transport from Boston)
Non-carpool price: $5.00


If you are a driver or non-carpool you are welcome to bring your own bike. Riders may bring their own bikes if drivers have racks; you must be willing to rent a bike otherwise.


4. What to Bring:


Appropriate clothing for the forecasted weather


Closed toe shoes to go bike riding in


Backpack to carry your stuff in while bike riding


Sunglasses, sun screen, hat and bug spray


Water bottle


Snacks, since there is NO food for sale on Plum Island.


Bathing suit and towel if you wish to go swimming or sunbathing


Alternative change of clothes if you plan to go swimming


$2 for getting into Plum Island


***Please note that the bike rental will include a helmet and a bike lock.***
