Looking to meet people, learn how to dance, or just want some exercise? Lucky for you Boston Lindy Hop is offering a beginner swing dance class to help you out!
Swing 101 is a beginner-friendly swing dance class designed to get you comfortable with the basics of social dancing in just two hours! We cover slightly different material depending on who is teaching, but we can guarantee you a fun and active lesson - and a great way to spend a weekend afternoon. No partner or previous experience is required. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes - heels are allowed, but not recommended.
This month is a bit different because we are collaborating with Boston Youth Moves (BYM), a non-profit organization that encourages young people, through training in the art of dance, to explore their limitless potential for artistic expression and personal success. In result all proceeds from this class will be donated to BYM and instead of online registration we are accepting $20 at the door. That's a $10 savings from the usual price and it all goes to a good cause!
Do I Need A Partner?
No partner necessary! Because Lindy Hop is a very social dance, we rotate partners throughout the class, so you get to know and dance with everyone.
What Should I Wear?
Shoes that are comfortable and stick to your feet. Sling backs and flip flops are hard to dance in. As far as everything else, wear something comfortable that makes you feel good. You may however want to avoid articles of clothing that a hand on the back could get caught in.
