BalletX, Philadelphia’s premier contemporary ballet company, whose dancers were named “among America’s best” by The New York Times, commissions choreographers from around the world to create dance that is “fresh, inclusive, and connects to what people want” (Philadelphia Citizen) while “positioning Philadelphia on the cutting edge of contemporary ballet” (The Dance Journal).
The company, led by Artistic & Executive Director Christine Cox, presents Summer Series 2019, featuring the World Premiere of The Little Prince – a full-length ballet for the whole family by choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s novella. Peter Salem, best known for his soundtrack work on the BBC TV series Call the Midwife, will perform his original music onstage, alongside the dancers.
