Please join us for a Meet & Greet with artist Lavaughan Jenkins, who will be spending his Saturday afternoon at Abigail Ogilvy Gallery, Boston. Stop by anytime between 12:00 - 2:00 PM to chat with the artist about his current two-person exhibition, Rooted in Transit, while enjoying bagels and coffee.
In his current Love Portals series, Jenkins will share how he created the work during his time in Los Angeles in the fall of 2023, finalizing many of the pieces in Boston prior to the exhibition opening. The works on view are form of self-expression in a deeply personal way. In Jenkins’ new series, the paintings are a record of certain moments in his past, a reminder of love lost – yet they allow the possibility to reconnect with the person or memory on the other side of the portal.
