Join local public art curators and producers NOW + THERE on August 8 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm to kick-off the new public art experience Augment by internationally-acclaimed artist Nick Cave (Soundsuits, Unless, The Let Go). Meet the artists and see the one-of-a-kind sculpture at the heart of Augment, hand sewn by the artist from more than 1,000 inflatable lawn ornaments. The artwork will fill the immense Cyclorama at the Boston Center for the Arts with a cacophony of color and visual imagery. Immersive and dynamic, the sculpture calls on well-known cultural touchstones and image and provides unexpected moments of recognition, nostalgia, and delight.
