GBH is celebrating FRONTLINE’s 40th Anniversary this year and we’re excited to have FRONTLINE’s editor-in-chief and executive producer Raney Aronson-Rath as our special guest expert. She will talk about the last four decades of the award-winning series and how it has impacted journalism and continues to be the gold standard in investigative reporting. You will be able to ask your questions directly to her.
FRONTLINE has won every major award in broadcast journalism under Aronson-Rath’s leadership, including Emmy Awards, the first Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Gold Baton to be awarded in a decade, and the series’ first-ever Peabody Institutional Award. Aronson-Rath has also expanded FRONTLINE’s theatrical documentary footprint, with the series earning its first-ever Academy Award nomination for Abacus: Small Enough to Jail in 2018 and its second in 2020 for the film For Sama.
Raney Aronson-Rath has guided FRONTLINE’s coverage through some of the most crucial events in recent history, from Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war on Ukraine, to a multiplatform project examining a federal effort to grapple with America’s legacy of racist killings, to the U.S. response to the coronavirus pandemic and more.
