In 1983, Emerson High School was a crumbling building, an eye sore right in the center of Concord. Now, 34 years later, the old high school building has been transformed into a bustling, vibrant arts center. Hear from Ellie Bemis and Kay DeFord, two of the original founders, and Jerry Wedge, The Umbrella’s Executive Director, about the work that goes into revitalizing an old building into a center for creative community.
