South Street Gallery, South Shore’s premier fine art gallery supporting area artists, will host an Artist Talk on Saturday, November 3 from 1 to 3pm. Hingham artist Michael Weymouth will show images and discuss his second, yet-to-be-published Maine coast book, MAINE (A COMING OF AGE) which features many of the back-to-the-landers who form the backbone of a thriving microeconomic creative revival in the Penobscot Bay area.
The current exhibit is titled “Artists From Away” and is on display until November 19, 2018. If you are not a Maine Native, you are From Away. South Street Gallery invited a small group of local and regional artists to capture the true Maine experience and paint anywhere in the state of Maine, known for its rocky coastline, maritime history, granite and spruce islands, lighthouses, fishing villages and lobster shacks. The participating artists are Doug Andelin, T.A. Charron, Mike Graves, Jack Hobbs, Alexander Korman, Dale Ratcliff, Vcevy Strekalovsky, Paul Wasson and Michael Weymouth.
