Time travel and physics cross paths with drugs and the desolate landscape of Middlesbrough, England in Alistair McDowall's intensely imaginative play. A true genius, Luke has escaped his dreary life by setting up a physics lab in his council flat, where he's managed to build a box that does extraordinary things. His brother Rob has chosen a different path to relieve his post-industrial malaise, dealing drugs and doing whatever else he can to turn a profit. When a third party enters the brothers' world, the two face a danger that could destroy both their family and the universe. McDowall's Brilliant Adventures is a violent and unflinching look at despair, with a science fiction element that helps examine our socio-economic realities.
