The Goal: Hike off-trail to the the two highest points on the Bartlett-Haystack ridge and take in views of Mount Carrigain and the surrounding area from some open ledges along the ridge.
This is an off-trail adventure to Bartlett-Haystack Mountain. Be cognizant that hiking off-trail (bushwhacking) is much more difficult and tiring than hiking on a designated trail due to increased number of obstacles (rocks, bushes, blowdowns etc.) than would be found on a trail designed to avoid these obstacles. Also, micro-decisions regarding navigation take more time and require more focus of team members.
Here are the stats:
6 miles total distance
~1.5 miles hiking on-trail
~4.5 miles hiking off-trail
2,750 feet of elevation gain
Before Signing up, if I have NOT hiked with you before, please answer the following questions:
