This September, An Evening with President Kennedy: What if JFK Had Survived Dallas?, will make its Philadelphia stage premiere at the Prince Theater.
Based on the assumption that the 35th President had survived his 1963 assassination with only a single wound, actor Joe Lawless will portray John F. Kennedy reflecting on his life and career as a senior statesman on his final speaking tour.
An Evening with President Kennedy, by author and executive producer Dennis McAndrews, Esq., begins with Kennedy’s election in 1960 as he addresses the major events of his presidency leading up to that fateful trip to Dallas. The audience is then invited to suspend its disbelief and assume that the President suffered only a single, non-fatal wound. Lawless, provides glimpses into the private life of the aging JFK after leaving office and reflects upon his career, his family and his losses with an honesty that envisions the man, the statesman and the icon we never truly got to know.
