New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, a 171 acre botanic garden in Boylston, MA, is filling its conservatories with orchids in one of the most dramatic and mesmerizing plant exhibitions of the year. From February 11 to March 19, 2023, Allure: An Orchid Exhibition showcases thousands of living orchids in artful arrangements. Visitors can explore what makes orchids so enchanting, not only to human senses, but to the pollinators they tempt through tricks, traps, and treasure tactics evolved over millennia. Sculptural work by California-based artist and maker Kara Walker, featured on Season 3 of NBC’s “Making It,” will be included in the exhibit to help illustrate some of the dramatic relationships between different orchid species and their pollinators.
