About Alexander Herwitz
Alexander Herwitz has been playing guitar since he walked into his sisters room and she was strumming away on an acoustic guitar. He is the lead vocalist of the band Division 16 (d16theband.com).


"I was 12 and I knew then and there I had to have one. So I began playing when I was 12. I had been singing before that with my mother and sister starting at about 3 years old (on key!). My mom could sight read and play the piano."


Alexander also does visual art and poetry, along with occasional acting. He has a CCTV show every Tuesday at 7:30-7:57 called "It's all about Me" (satirical title); a show all about music, art, and poetry.


About Instant Shawarma
Instant Shawarma is a local grungy blues/rock band straight out of Cambridgeport. Their music is all original, but has been compared to: The Black Keys, early Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Silverchair, and other similar groups. The band formed in March of 2015 with Andy Constantine and Pat O'Donnell, and was completed when drummer Josh Ziemann and bassist Matt Montrose joined later that year. In May of 2016, the band released their debut EP, "Just Add Water," which can be found at InstantShawarma.Bandcamp.com, or in hard copy at any show. Instant Shawarma frequently plays local shows at The Middle East Club, Cantab Lounge, Sally O'Brien's, and The Midway Cafe. Their music is usually played with electric guitars, but translates well to acoustic for smaller, quieter settings.
