Alex Wong and Megan Slankard are playing Club Passim in Cambridge, MA on Tuesday, October 24th at 8 PM. Alex Wong’s story has always been one of nonlinear paths, of redefining boundaries, from his time in major-label band The Din Pedals (Epic), to duo projects The Animators and The Paper Raincoat, to exploring his own voice as a solo artist. His first solo effort, "A City On A Lake", contains darkly gorgeous, cinematic folk and vivid lyricism, undergirded by organic and electronic textures. A native Californian indie rocker, Megan Slankard has released five albums and also won several awards. In 2013 alone, she was a finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest, a finalist in the International Songwriting Contest (ISC), and a finalist in the Show Me the Music Contest. She was also a finalist for Best Female Artist in the International Acoustic Music Awards (IAMA). Tickets are on-sale now at www.clubpassim.org. Kat Goldman is opening.
