Aeronaut Allston: The Late Risers, Jan Marie, Art Mobile

AERONAUT Allston is back!!!

We've been packing crowds into the awesome new outdoor community program and performance space at Zone 3's hub of activity, 267 Western Ave in Allston. It's an upgrade from the blacktop parking lot of the past two years – but it still feels like home!

Our 3rd season showcases the best in local bands and musicians, fantastic local food trucks, and great beer!

AERONAUT Allston takes place every WEDNESDAY (5-9:30pm) and FRIDAY (5-11pm), June 1 to September 28 at Zone 3 (267 Western Ave). See our full season lineup here: http://www.zone3westernave.com/aeronaut/

Zone 3 is a Harvard-sparked initiative to further activate and energize Western Ave with creative programs, events, and retail. More info: Zone3WesternAve.com

Jan Marie Music (6pm)
Jan Marie & the Mean Reds
Since her induction to the jazz world seven short years ago, Jan Marie has made a name for herself as a regular crowd-seducing chanteuse. Jan Marie has been compared to late, great jazz pioneers such as Anita O'Day, Nina Simone, Etta James, and even modern jazz marvels as Eva Cassidy and Amy Winehouse.

She toured the East Coast in 2009 as a guest vocalist for Josh Fialkoff‘s J-Street band, then landed a regular guest vocalist spot in Shawn Hershey‘s Hot Sextet in late 2010. Only in January 2013, did Jan Marie finally start her own outfit, Jan Marie & The Mean Reds, who almost immediately after their inception landed spreads in both The Boston Globe and The Boston Phoenix.

"Her voice rises up like a gutsy personal anthem, something that could be sung in honky tonks, late night clubs, and smoky bars as well as along parade routes and outdoor celebrations. ... The Late Risers (7:30pm)
The Late Risers specialize in Traditional Jazz and Swing music from the 20s, 30s and 40s. Their repertoire of Classic and "Hot" Jazz evokes memories of a bygone era in American music.
