AERONAUT Allston is back!!!

It's our third season of free, outdoor, family-friendly musical beer gardens at Zone 3's hub of activity, 267 Western Ave in Allston.

The series features live music and performance by emerging local artists, the best local food trucks, and great beer! This year AERONAUT will help Zone 3 open its awesome new outdoor community program and performance space. It's an upgrade from the blacktop parking lot of the past two years – but it still feels like home!

AERONAUT Allston takes place every WEDNESDAY (5-9:30pm) and FRIDAY (5-11pm), June 1 to September 28 at Zone 3 (267 Western Ave).

This season will highlight...
--community collaborations!
--exclusive, only-in-Allston beers!
--a rotating lineup of Boston's top food trucks!
--the best of emerging and established Boston-area performers and bands!

Zone 3 is a Harvard-sparked initiative to further activate and energize Western Ave with creative programs, events, and retail. More info: Zone3WesternAve.com

These events are family-friendly, however, please note that under 21s are allowed in only with a parent or legal guardian.

Read below for details on this evening's featured acts and other details. Bring your friends, neighbors, kids, and your dog, and we'll see you under the string lights!

Cheers,
the AERONAUT Allston team

FEATURED MUSICAL ACTS for FRI JUNE 29

We're thrilled to present two of our favorite acts from last year's beer garden, plus a terrific new-to-us opening performer! Sure to be a packed crowd so get there EARLY for the best seats.

Paper Citizen (6pm)
Paper Citizen is a Boston-based indie rock project led by Singaporean singer-songwriter, violinist, guitarist and music producer, Claire Gohst.

At the age of 18, Claire left school to pursue music as a full-time career, starting out in the local live music scene around Singapore, playing the violin and singing in bars, clubs and restaurants with different rock and folk bands. She soon after moved to Boston to pursue training in the recording arts and jazz violin, immersing herself in the rich history of American music. The melding of her artistic message honed with these musical influences and technological skills gathered over the next few years resulted in the indie-rock project, Paper Citizen.

Paper Citizen was voted Deli Magazine’s “New England Emerging Artist of the Month” for October 2016, and was nominated in the 2017 New England Music Awards for the category New Act of the Year.

Gentle Temper (7pm)
Gentle Temper is Ryan Meier and Marion Earley, an ocean-folk duo with a blues tide from the bayous of Boston, MA. Marion and Ryan met while attending college in Boston and began writing and playing together in their final year. Their live sound builds on a sturdy foundation of lyrical storytelling & animated harmonies.

GT_ have opened for nationally touring acts LOLO, Ballroom Thieves, Bombadil, and 2014 NPR Favorite new artist The Family Crest. In July 2017 they had the pleasure of performing at the annual Chikombuso Foundation for Widows & Orphans at the Jonathan Edwards Vineyard. In September, they won 1st place in the Katrina’s Singer-Songwriter Challenge and appeared on the Gloucester television series “Local Music Seen” shortly after.

The pair released “Sleep It Off: The Live EP” in December of 2017 alongside a coinciding documentary-style video. They are currently working on their first full length album, due out later this year.

The Novel Ideas (9pm)
The Novel Ideas have earned a reputation from music critics and fans for their moving four-part harmonies and rich Americana sound. From rock clubs to living rooms to festival stages, the band strives to convey honesty and intimacy through their music.

Featuring the voices of three songwriters, their newly-released self-titled album, produced by Rick Parker (Lord Huron) and mixed by Ryan Freeland (Ray LaMontagne, Bonnie Raitt), showcases the band at its best. Capturing the spirit of their live performance in recorded form wasn’t easy, but the result is a heartfelt representation of who The Novel Ideas are as a band. Track by track, The Novel Idea represents a contribution to the country-folk scene that balances love-and-loss melancholy with thoughtful instrumentation and intricate vocal arrangements.
