Aeronaut Allston: Brassfest w/ Cocek! Brass Band, Sarma, BAGLY

AERONAUT Allston is back!!!

We've been packing crowds into the awesome new outdoor community program and performance space at Zone 3's hub of activity, 267 Western Ave in Allston. It's an upgrade from the blacktop parking lot of the past two years – but it still feels like home!

Our 3rd season showcases the best in local bands and musicians, fantastic local food trucks, and great beer!

AERONAUT Allston takes place every WEDNESDAY (5-9:30pm) and FRIDAY (5-11pm), June 1 to September 28 at Zone 3 (267 Western Ave). See our full season lineup here: http://www.zone3westernave.com/aeronaut/

FEATURED MUSICAL ACTS for FRI AUG 10

We're sure to have a packed crowd so get there EARLY for the best seats on the lawn.

Sarma Brass Band (7pm)
Sarma Brass Band is the realization of founder Tano Brock's vision to bring traditional Balkan Brass to Boston. They play a variety of music from Macedonia, Serbia, Greece, and Albania, as well as original material.

Cocek Brass Band (9pm)
Cocek! is a 5-piece ensemble from Boston, MA playing all original compositions. Their music is influenced by Eastern-European and New Orleans dance songs, Afrobeat, Klezmer and elements of reggae and Western classical pieces.

CBB sounds are inspired by acts like Fanfare Ciocarlia, Fela Kuti, Miles Davis, Rebirth Brass Band, traditional Balkan songs and chamber brass repertoire. Dance music for those seeking something new and unique, contemplative Old World melodies that hark to a lost era and catchy riffs that will have you singing along and tapping your foot all night long.

In performance spaces ranging from hollowed out warehouses and arts spaces in Boston to the Kennedy Center in D.C., The Burlington Discover Jazz Festival in Vermont, WorldFest in Louisville, KY and the 11th Annual NY Gypsy Music Festival, Cocek! can be found sprinkling their Phrygian magic dust on audience members all over the world. They also put on programs for schools and universities discussing traditional Balkan/Klezmer & New Orleans Jazz music, it's beautiful history and it's relation to their original compositions.
