The Massachusetts Archives Building, the Commonwealth Museum and Boston Arts Academy invite you to attend the opening reception for a new exhibition celebrating black history and culture in Massachusetts, curated by three BAA students (Stacy Lafume, Rocky Cotard and Rodrick Guevera.)
The exhibition at the archives building on Columbia Point in Dorchester includes Boston-based artists Ekua Holmes, Paul Goodnight, Stephen Hamilton, Adam Bullock, Shaanti Williams, Laurence Pierce and Lucilda Dassardo-Cooper. This is the first partnership between the Commonwealth Museum and Boston Arts Academy.
The opening night will feature sounds from Charger, a young upcoming group of students from Boston Arts Academy, as well as a few words from the Secretary of State, William F. Galvin. Light refreshments will also be provided.
Boston Arts Academy (BAA) is the city’s only public high school for the visual and performing arts serving over 420 students that reflect the diversity of Boston’s neighborhoods.
