For the past eight years, A St. Patrick's Day Celtic Sojourn concerts have introduced a wide range of new and familiar musicians alike to audiences eager to celebrate the holiday in true Irish style.

The concerts follow the format established for the host Brian O'Donovan's burgeoning A Christmas Celtic Sojourn series of concerts which, during this past December, played to almost 12,000 people in Boston, Worcester, and Rockport, MA, and Derry, NH.

A St. Patrick’s Day Celtic Sojourn was first produced in 2004 and reflects the easy, relaxed, and diverse offerings of O'Donovan's weekly radio program on 89.7 WGBH (Saturdays, 3pm).

Last year, the show sold out very quickly at the beautiful Sanders Theatre in Cambridge — so fast, in fact, that we have decided to add a matinee show on Sunday, March 15 at 3 p.m.

The Artist Line-up includes:

The Alan Kelly Gang - Fronted by Ireland’s piano accordion maestro and with three critically acclaimed masters of their craft in tow, the Alan Kelly Gang sit firmly at the cutting edge of the traditional and world music scene.

Carlos Núñez is one of Galicia’s most revered artists, undisputed as the tradition’s greatest piper.

Caitlín nic Gabhann and Ciarán Ó Maonaigh - Three time winner of the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil on concertina, Caitlín is a regular performer at festivals and in concert halls from North America all the way to Asia. Ciarán Ó Maonaigh is a fiddle player from Gaoth Dobhair, County Donegal. His duo with Caitlin has been getting rave reviews and we are told their first CD is in the works.

Keith Murphy, Music Director - Named music director for A St. Patrick’s Day Celtic Sojourn in 2012, Keith Murphy is a native of Newfoundland and a founding member of Nightingale, a trio which broke new ground in its sophisticated approach to traditional music.
