Are you a yoga teacher or serious practitioner? Do you want to learn more about the practice of yoga on the wall ropes? This two and a half-hour workshop will fully explore the basics of practicing all the families of yoga asana on the wall ropes. Tristan will bring copies of the new Yoga Kurunta: Learning the Ropes book so you can see each step of each pose as we do them.
Working on the wall ropes allows you to extend and experience as never before. The ropes both encourage and support you, and help you find your optimal expression of an asana. Tristan teaches two dedicated classes each week on the ropes and has taken hundreds of students deeply into this amazingly effective practice.
You will visit each pose family in turn, with a long focus on inversions. Students will work individually and possibly in pairs as well. Note and photo taking is encouraged, and you will have plenty of time for questions and observations.
Previous yoga experience is a must, and ropes experience is recommended but not required. Weekly ropes classes meet Tuesdays at 12:30pm and Thursdays at 1 pm in Brookline and Fridays at 12:30pm in Newton. Early registration for ropes classes and workshops is strongly encouraged since class size is limited. You are welcome to bring fingerless gloves used for weight lifting or bicycling if you’d like to, but this is not required. Books will be offered for sale.
