A cure for diabetes may be available in the next decade. Close to 10% of the U.S. population is estimated to be diagnosed or undiagnosed with diabetes. After a century of research that has focused on improving insulin, a cure for diabetes that restores the body’s own ability to produce insulin could soon be available.
