The Hopkinton Center for the Arts is excited to announce our 2022 one act playwriting competition for budding or seasoned playwrights! Selected one acts will be performed August 2022 at the "A Play, A Pint & A Pie" event.


COMPETITION RULES


Length of play
20 minutes (approx 20 pages)


Subject Matter
Comedy


Status of play
The play should be un-produced and unpublished


Number of entries
Up to three entries per playwright


Submissions & Fees
Submissions will be accepted up until 11:59 pm on March 31, 2022. There is a $20 per script submission fee. Scripts should be in Word or PDF form and emailed upon payment of the script submission fee.


Competition Announcement
Finalists (between 4-6) will be determined by the end of April 2022. All entries are final; no revisions will be accepted. Plays will not be returned or critiqued. The finalists plays will be performed on August 27, 2022.


Prize
The juried winning playwright will win $200. The authors of these final plays will be welcome to attend the Play Pint & Pie festival in August 2022 at their own expense. If not feasible, we will attempt to provide authors with a recording of the performance.
